Breslin Architects was honored with an “Excellence in Architecture” award in 1989 for this project from AIA Pennsylvania, a Society of the American Institute of Architects. In 2013 the library was renovated which involved the reduction in book stacks to accommodate the installation of glass-encoded collaboration rooms.  New carpeting and furniture were provided in conjunction with state-of-the-art high-end technology with information and resources throughout the 36,000 square foot building. At the heart of the library is the learning commons which offers a variety of study areas, intimate niches and lofty, two-story spaces.  Natural light pervades the interior through strategically placed windows and skylights, providing well-lit spaces for the user while protecting the monitors and laptops from direct exposure to sunlight.
