The library conference room was originally designed as a rare books reading room. However, in 2020, the College desired a more functional room to serve expanded and varied student and faculty needs. Of prime importance was the integration of premier audio-visual technology including four large LCD screens, surround speakers and long distance learning cameras and microphones. New dimmable lighting and motorized shades are easily changed with pre-programed scene setting controls. High quality carpet, wood paneling, lighted display shelving and wall finishes help create an elegant, timeless collaboration space. Acoustics were significantly improved by lowering the ceiling and adding a specialized wood ceiling. Carefully selected, movable furniture allows flexibility for various room set-ups. The previously underused room is now in high demand and will serve the College well into the future.
